Multi-awarded pop icon Michael Jackson and Charlie’s Angels actress Farrah Fawcett died Thursday, June 25, leaving the entertainment industry mourning the loss of two great names. He was 50, while she was 62.
The King of Pop passed away at the UCLA Medical Center in Los Angeles, where he was brought by paramedics of the Los Angeles Fire Department. Jackson was found not breathing and in full cardiac arrest in his home.
The cause of Jackson’s death is still unclear, and an autopsy will likely be held to shed light on his passing, reports Reuters.
The controversial musician had been getting ready to stage a series of comeback shows in London, set to take place beginning July 13 up to March 2010. Tickets to the London concerts had sold out minutes after selling began in March this year.
Meanwhile, fair and blonde-haired Fawcett died of anal cancer, which she has been battling on and off since 2006. FOXNews.com elaborates that the 70s sex symbol had gone into remission and underwent chemotherapy and surgery in the US and Germany. However, it was discovered earlier this year that the cancer had already spread to her liver.
CNN.com reports that actor Ryan O’Neal, Fawcett's long-time romantic partner, was with her in the hospital when she passed away. She is survived by O'Neal and their 24-year-old son Redmond.
